About Coastal Monitoring Alliance

Welcome to Coastal Monitoring Alliance (CMA), where we are working to revolutionize coastal data collection and processing. Founded by Jeff Coogan, CMA was born from his desire to incorporate all of his PhD data analysis and data collection knowledge into an uncrewed surface vessel that could spatially map the health of estuaries and coastal systems. It began with testing his ideas in a small pool in a garage, and has now evolved into multiple boats helping us rethink spatial data collection and how to quickly collect meaningful data products.

Our mission is simple: to make coastal monitoring easy, effective, and accessible for everyone. We strive to offer the best low-cost data and actionable insights to support informed decision-making and sustainable coastal management.
